I already posted this, but I just put it back in the order it should be in and added Kenyon's picture with his teacher taken by my friend Tiffany.
June 15, 2002 marked the last day at Harmony Elementary for my oldest child Brandon. He has been at this school since Kindergarten and has had some AMAZING teachers! This school has been so great for all of my kids and I will admit to being very teary thinking that one of my little ones is moving on from this very supportive and loving school to middle school! I feel like I am sending him into the lions den. I am really scared to send him on, but I know that he will do fine, and the Lord will be with him. I will be praying hard for him this next year.
All of my kids had a great year. Brandon had Mr. Nadal and Mrs. Tendler as his teachers and I was so impressed with how much they pushed him to do more than he normally would. At the beginning of the year, he was not put in the accelerated math and I was nervous he would get behind those kids for middle school math. Mr. Nadal promised me he would push Brandon and he really did. Brandon took the sixth grade math test and passed and so he will be doing seventh grade math next year. I was very proud of him and so grateful to his awesome teacher.

Kenyon had a rough start to his year. He and his teacher Mr. Lamp, had a bit of a personality conflict. After Pete and I had a meeting with both of his teachers, we were able to get Mr. Lamp and Kenyon to come to an understanding and the rest of the year was great! He had no more problems with Mr. Lamp and I would say that the year was a resounding success! His other teacher was Mrs. Williams and she was fantastic as always!

Shaylee had Mrs. McKee for first grade and she had an awesome year! She loved Mrs. McKee and loved all the fun things she got to do as a first grader. The first grade team of teachers is excellent and they always have so many fun activities for the kids to do.

As another school year ends, I find myself really sad about so many things that are coming to an end. I am also trying to think of the positive things that will come from these endings. 1) Brandon is leaving elementary school-but, middle school will bring so many opportunities for him to grow as a young man. He will also be turning twelve at the end of the year and becoming a Deacon and getting the priesthood. 2) Jaron is going to kindergarten- I am going to miss him! He has been my baby for so long and my buddy. What will I do without him at home with me? But, he does need to mature and Harmony is such a fantastic school and I know he will just grow by leaps and bounds there. 3) I will only have ONE baby at home! I have dreamed my entire life of being a mom of babies and my babies are growing up. It's so hard! BUT, it will be nice to be able to get more things done at home and have a little more time for myself. Doing things at home will be a bit easier with only one munckin under foot. 4) And last, but not least, my neighbor of nine years is moving on to a new house. She will still be in my ward and really in the same basic neighborhood, but no more running next door or across the street to borrow something or show her something or have my kids out in the street playing with her kids... it won't be the same and it makes me so sad! But, since she is moving no matter how much I would like her to stay, I am so glad that a good friend is moving back to the area and into her house. So, this summer is a series of goodbyes and hellos for me. I will probably be curled up in a ball on the first day of school, but I will get through it and life will again take on a new "normal".
Sorry about the novel, but this is something I needed to get out! And it is my blog! :)
