Six Months?!

Where did the time go?!  My baby is six months old and I can hardly believe it!  I am trying to enjoy each and every moment with my little dumpling because time just goes by too fast.

Miss Moo at six months old is just pure delight.   I swear this little girl just gets more and more fun.  She is such a doll and so good.  She is sitting pretty well, she topples every now and again, but mostly she does a good job of staying put.  She can pull her binky out and put it back in by herself.  She loves to play peek a boo and patty cake!  She is eating baby cereal and enjoys it.  She also started drinking a little bit of water out of a sippy cup.  She loves to play with her little toys and likes to snuggle with her pink puppy blanky.  She is fascinated by her siblings and enjoys watching them.  Shaylee loves to carry her everywhere and she is always giving me heart attacks, but I canNOT convince her that she is not as big as her brothers and can't do everything with Maycee that they do.  Maycee can roll from her back to her front, but has never rolled from front to back.  She is in the 14th percentile for weight and the 60th for height.  So she is little, but not too teeny.   We just love our little Maycee, she makes our family feel very complete.  :)

My kids stats at six months old:

Brandon Peter: Weight- 17 lbs. 11.5 oz.   Height- 27.5 in.

Kenyon Matthew:  Weight- 16 lbs. 13 oz.  Height- 27.5 in.

Shaylee Nicole:  Weight- 13 lbs. 12 oz.   Height- 26 in.

Jaron Cleveland:  Weight- 17 lbs. 6 oz.  Height- 27 in.

Maycee Summer:  Weight- 14 lbs. 1 oz.  Height- 26 in.

I find it interesting how much bigger my boys are than my girls.

Utah Here We Come!!!!

So, the last day of school was INSANE!!!!  Pete and I packed up the car the night before and then when school was over I went and picked up the kids at school- took all the kids pictures with their teachers, which was CRAZY while carrying the baby and having Jaron running behind me, but I did it!-then I went and picked Pete up at work and we headed out on our 12 hour drive, which is actually 13, with a nursing baby!  We arrived at 2 am Friday morning  and fell into the beds my mom, the super hostess, had ready for us! We had a great night's sleep and then headed to Pleasant Grove, to spend the day with Grandma Phelon at Strawberry Days!  We ate a free lunch at the Bank of American Fork and then headed to the rides where the kids all used up their tickets and rode lots of fun rides.  Along the way we met up with some of Pete's brothers, their wives and kids.  It was a fun afternoon.

As soon as we were done with the rides we headed to the airport to drop Pete off, so he could head home and work for the next two weeks.  I then went to the Summers family reunion in Sandy.  I was able to see my aunts, uncles and cousins who I hadn't seen in a year including my cousin Kelly who had just arrived home from Iraq!  It was so great to give him a big squeeze!  This is also the first time I had seen my sister in ten and a half months and it was a fun reunion!  No pictures of the reunion because I was just exhausted and didn't think about it.  Oops!

The Last Day of School

June 16th was the last day of school for my kids this year.  All the kids had great teachers and wonderful years.  We were sad to say goodbye to the teachers, but since we were immediately heading to Utah after I picked them up on that last day, the kids were so excited to see their grandparents that it took some of the sadness of the end of the year away. 

Brandon's teachers this year were Mrs. Molenaar (his home teacher) and Mrs. Williams.  They are a great team and we were so sad to learn that Mrs. Molenaar was retiring after the end of this year.  She was such a great teacher with lots of enthusiasm and a great love of teaching.  She adored Brandon and often told me what a special little boy he is.  I must agree, we are blessed to have this sweet boy as our first born.

Kenyon's teachers this year were the same as Brandon's last year just swapped.  Brandon's home teacher was Mrs. O'Neil and Kenyon's was Mrs. Ensley.  Both of them are great teachers and we were happy to have them two years in a row.

Shaylee's teacher was Miss Price.  Miss Price has had all three of my kids for Kindergarten.  I adore her and think she is just wonderful and she gets better and better every year.  The year Brandon had her was her second year of teaching, so I noticed a huge improvement on her organizational skills from when Brandon had her.  We will definitely miss her this year, but I have high hopes that Jaron gets her next year.

End of the year craziness!

Our school has so many end of the year events, it is CRAZY!!!  I was so busy every day and I didn't even go on any field trips, or field days.  I didn't take pictures of everything, but here is what I have...

Kenyon's Cultural Event:
Kenyon did Ireland for his culture to research.  This is a culminating activity of their research project that they started in January.  They started their day by parading around the school.  They were supposed to dress in their culture, but Kenyon would only put on the Ireland t-shirt.  Then they shared their projects with everyone.  They ended their cultural event with a potluck feast.  It was super yummy.  Kenyon's contribution was chocolate dipped short bread cookies.  They were delish!

Brandon has been practicing his recorder for months upon months!  They get to pass off songs and then get certain colored "belts".  Kind of like karate.  Brandon made it all the way to black belt.  He did a great job and loved it!

Like I said, Shaylee's teacher is just fantastic and she and the other kindergarten teachers had the kids all meet every week and learn different songs throughout the year.  They sang color songs and other fun songs.  At the end of the year they sang their songs for their parents.  It was SO cute!

Shaylee loves her ballet class.  This year they did The Wizard of Oz for their recital.  Because of our vacation plans this year, Shaylee couldn't participate in the recital, but she did have her pictures taken.  After picture taking I had the girls come over and get their pictures taken together since Shay wouldn't be with them at the recital.  They sure make darling little Good Witches!

 

 

Father's Day Pizza Party!!!

Shaylee's teacher, Miss Price always does the funnest things with her class.  She does a Father's Day pizza party for the kids and their dads.  The kids each make a tie for the dad and then they eat pizza together.  Pete was a little late, and poor Shaylee was beside herself because her dad wasn't there.  When he walked in she was so excited that she jumped into his arms!  I love what a great dad Pete is to our kids.  They just adore him!

Track

This year, Brandon and Kenyon both participated in track.  Neither one of them is the fastest runners ever, but I love for them to be involved and working hard.  Brandon did get third place on one of his runs.  They both worked hard and I was so proud of both of them!  Great job boys!
