Eight months! WHAT?!

My baby turned 8 months old on September 20th.  It made me sad....  she is getting too big!  Maycee at eight months old is.... scooting all over the floor, getting on her knees and rocking back and forth- uh oh! I think we are in trouble!  She loves food and seems to like real food better than baby food.  She loves flavored rice like rice a roni, she loves to be held and definitely knows who feeds her!  When she is ready to eat she cries and cries for me.  She will just look at me with these sad little eyes and cry until I come get her.  She gets so excited and waves her arms up and down whenever anyone she knows is close by.  She is still so easy and just an absolute joy!

Scooting

On her knees!  She'll be crawling soon!

Seriously!  Look at that smile!

Cheer Camp

Some teenage girls that live close by hold a cheer camp every summer.  This is the first summer that I have been able to make it work for Shaylee to be able to go to it.  She was kind of nervous about it, but she had SO much fun.  It was so great and the girls did such a good job.  She came home every day from it so excited about what she had learned.  I hope I can make it work for her to be able to go next year

MY LITTLE FASHIONISTA!!!!

My daughter has a style all her own!  She is very creative and likes to make her own outfits, no matter if they match or not.  She really does not care what I think of her outfits.  She is unique, that is for sure.

She came up with this beautiful outfit when my mom and dad were visiting

She also came up with all her poses by herself!  My little model!

She got her friend H to join her in her craziness!
If I let her, she would dress like this every day.  As it is, she usually comes home from school, church or wherever and changes into one of her outlandish outfits.  Gotta love this girl!

Fireworks!

After we went to the pool we went back to Paul and Inger's showered and then had a yummy dinner at Los Hermanos, our favorite Mexican restaurant in Utah.  It was SO good!  After dinner we did fireworks with Paul, Dan, Joe and their families.  Pete set off all the fireworks and the kids had a great time watching them.  These are the last pictures I have of our trip to Utah.  We left just a few days after this.

Lindon Pool

A few days before we headed home, we went to Utah County and visited Pete's family again.  We decided to meet some of the cousins at the Lindon pool and hang out there for the day.  It was such a nice pool and the kids had so much fun.  They had a lazy river, a pirate ship, some water slides and a regular pool.  It was a fun day and the kids had a great time with their cousins.

Boondocks

On July 5th, Pete took the older boys, Brandon, Kenyon and Matthew to Boondocks to play and hang out.  Boondocks is such a great place with lots of fun things for the kids to do- they have bumper boats, miniature golf, bowling, lazer tag, go carts and an arcade.  The boys had a great time and really enjoyed being on there own without the little kids.  Pete hung out there all day with them and was so great to just let them go crazy and enjoy themselves.

My New Goal

So, in two weeks it will be exactly six months since I wrote my weight loss goal on my blog.  At that point I was down six pounds and wanted to be down 25 pounds by the end of June.  That was a lofty goal and one that I just could not attain.  I am nursing and so I failed to take that into account, plus just the busy life of a mom of five.  So, here I am almost six months later and down 15 pounds.  I didn't lose 25 pounds in three months (I'm not quite sure what I was thinking with that goal), but I have lost 15 pounds and I am proud of that.  I am now making a new goal.  One that is attainable and I will report back in six more months.  My goal is to be down 15 more pounds by Maycee's birthday.  That gives me just over four months.  That will be 30 pounds in ten months and I will be down to my preMaycee weight!

I have been walking with my husband at night and we are now going to add in running.  I love exercising with Pete, it is just a great way to connect with him at the end of the day.  At the beginning of my weight loss I was counting every calorie, too and that really helped me lose some pounds, so I am going to start doing that again as well on Monday.  I have high hopes to be down to my pre baby weight by her first birthday.  GO ME!!!!!

This is me in April- I had probably lost about five pounds here

This is me just last week- I lost fifteen pounds here

It's Independence Day!!!!!!!

We spent the fourth of July with my family in Kaysville.  There is so much going on during the fourth in Kaysville.  We started our morning off by going to the breakfast at the DATC.  I have been going to this breakfast with my Grandma since I was a little girl.  It always brings back such fun memories.  At the breakfast, we met my Grandma, sister and cousins.  It was a great start to a fun day.  After breakfast, Cindy and I went to my mom's and rinsed out all the tie dye t-shirts, we had made on Friday.  They had soaked for three days and were ready to go!  They turned out so cute and the kids were so happy with them.

After that we headed to main street to enjoy the Kaysville parade.  We made a HAUL at the parade.  We got three stuffed animals, a ball, a frisbee, a comb, necklace, tons of candy, and Rice Krispy treats.  YUMMY!  The kids had a blast.

We then had a yummy Barbeque at my mom's and dad's with my sisters, their families and my Grandma.  It was so much fun.  After such a great meal we had a fun time just chatting and hanging out.  When it started to get dark we headed to Davis High School for the fire works.  The fire works were gorgeous and the kids had so much fun.  We left Maycee at home with Grandma and Grandpa.  It was so nice for her to be able to sleep and we could go and enjoy ourselves.  Thanks mom and dad!

We had such a great day celebrating out country's Independence Day!!!!
