Celebrating 40 at Lake Chelan

So, for Pete's 40th, I wanted it to be a special birthday for him and I knew that a party would not be something that he would want, so I asked him what he wanted to do and his answer was to gt to Lake Chelan. So, I arranged babysitting and he arranged the trip and after postponing it due to his leg infection we finally headed out there on September 26th.
We left Sunday after church and got to our hotel late Sunday night. We had a hotel right on the lake and the view was breathtaking. On Monday we went on a four hour boat ride to a little town that you can only get to by boat. We spent about an hour and a half there and saw a gorgeous water fall and then headed back to Chelan. When we got back to Chelan, we ate dinner at a fancy and yummy Italian restaurant.

On Tuesday, we spent the morning shopping in downtown Chelan and then we headed out and stopped at some fruit stands and at a Washington state park. We then went to Wenatchee and checked into our hotel and then headed to Leavenworth. I love Leavenworth... It is such a cute town and has some awesome shops. We got some chocolate at this little chocolate store that was rated the #1 one thing to see in Leavenworth. It is called Schocolat and has very expensive but very yummy chocolates. It was so much fun to just walk around and enjoy that gorgeous town with my honey and not worry about my kids whining. I could shop there for days and days, it is just so much fun.

On Wednesday, we went back to Leavenworth (of course we couldn't resist!). Then we went to a soda counter for lunch in Wenatchee and then we headed home. We went home by way of a very scenic route that put us very close to Mt. Ranier. When we finally saw the Mountain it was simply breathtaking. So beautiful. It was worth the extra length of time to be able to see that gorgeous site. We got home at about seven and were thrilled to see our cute kids. We enjoyed our time alone, but were excited to be back as a family again.

It was a great 40th birthday birthday for my sweetie! And an enjoyable time away before our new baby arrives. Thank you to Nicole, Kirse and Carrie who were so willing to watch our kids, so we could go on this fun trip. Thank heavens for great friends!

A Funny Jaron Moment

For FHE tonight we were going to give cookies to our "new" neighbors, who moved in a few months ago. It has been pouring rain all weekend and all day today, so everyone got on their coats and shoes and we headed out the door. Jaron, was all buttoned up in his raincoat and ready to go like the other kids. As we headed out the door, we made it down the driveway and to the sidewalk when he stops and says, "It wet, mommy! It wet! It wet!" I was like, yes it's wet, but your okay, that's why we have shoes on. He says, "My feet, mommy! My feet! It wet!" I thought he wanted me to carry him, which is a common thing, so I just said, "Jaron, it's been raining of course it's wet! You have shoes..." And then I looked down at his feet before I even finished the sentence and no he did not have shoes on! He was walking on very wet sidewalks in his socks! Poor guy! I laughed and laughed and of course picked him up. He kept saying, "My shoes, my shoes" When we got back in we took off his sopping wet socks and put him in some warm jammies. Sometimes child #4, doesn't quite get the attention that child #1 got at the same age! :)

Happy Birthday To My Mom!

My mom's birthday is September 23rd. My parents left on the 22nd, so we celebrated her birthday on September 21st. It was fun to actually be able to spend her birthday with her, since we live too far away from her to ever be there for her birthday. We had fajitas for dinner, since my mom loves Mexican food. And we had presents and cake and ice cream. Shaylee thought that Grandma did not get enough presents. I tried to explain that these were just our presents, but she would get presents from her other kids and Grandpa. I thought it was very sweet how concerned she was about that.

I had a great time with my mom and dad here. They were only here for five days, so we didn't do anything too exciting. We went shopping at the mall and bought an outfit for Maycee. We went to Babies R Us and traded an old stroller for a new one for Maycee. They came to church with us. We met my sister and her daughter at the mall and shopped some more. My mom played countless games with my kids. My dad put in a garage door keyless entry for me. It was a productive and fun time. I am excited to see my mom again in January. I miss her a lot. I wish that they lived closer.

Red Sox

On September 15th we went to the Red Sox, Mariners game. We forgot the camera in the car, so no pictures. There are a few on my phone, but I have no idea how to get them off my phone. We had a great time! We ate the famous garlic fries at Safeco field, and the kids devoured them! The Red Sox won and so we left happy! As we were leaving some guy who caught a ball at the game rolled down his window and asked Brandon if he wanted it. Brandon was so excited! It now has a place of honor on his dresser.

Fruit Loop

When Pete’s mom was here, Pete wanted to take her to Hood River to see all their orchards, since his parents had a blueberry and apple farm in Massachusetts. He looked up online what was recommended to do there and the Fruit Loop was rated #1. It’s a 30 mile loop of farms and orchards that sell fruit and have different activities at each place. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it. The kids had fun picking out their fruit and Shaylee realized that she LOVES peaches. The day we went was gorgeous and the views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams were amazing! This will be something we do every year.

The baptism!

On September 12th, Kenyon was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Grandma P. gave the opening prayer, Brother Brinkley gave the talk on Baptism, Grandpa S. gave the talk on the Holy Ghost and Grandma S. gave the closing prayer. Pete baptized and confirmed him. It was a wonderful baptism with lots of support from the people who love Kenyon. Aunt Gina, Uncle Kirk and family were all able to come as well. Kenyon is such a cute and sweet boy. He was just beaming his fun smile the whole time.





After the baptism, we had dessert at our house for everyone who came. We had a lot of desserts and they were almost all gone. It was a great turn out and such a fun time to visit and get together with our friends.
