They had cake and like I said, Jaron likes to use his hair as
a napkin. This is what his hair looked like by the time he
was done!
Since Halloween fell on Sunday this year, our ward did their own trick or treating in the two neighborhoods close to the church that has a lot of members in it. Pete and the kids went trick or treating while I handed out candy, since we were included in the houses handing out candy. The kids had a great time and still got a load of candy. On the actual day, we turned out our porch lights and watched Peanuts while decorating our sugar cookies. It was a fun Halloween and the kids didn't seem to care when we went trick or treating.

On Friday, Oct. 22nd, Shaylee had her first field trip as a Kindergartner. The Kindergarten always goes to Bizi Farms pumpkin patch for their field trip. I was a chaperone, and got to ride on the bus with Shaylee. I thought this was a great idea until I got put in the back of the bus! That was one bumpy ride and I was one sick momma! I chewed on a piece of gum to relieve some of the nausea and this little boy in her class says, "you can't chew gum on the bus!" I was like, "you can if you're a pregnant mommy!" It was either chew gum or be sick and I thought the bus driver would probably choose the chewing gum! :)
I was much relieved when we got to Bizi farms. The kids had a great time. Shaylee was in a group with her buddy Maddy and two little boys. They went through the hay maze, then went to the petting zoo, and then they got to climb the hay tower. Finally, it was their turn for the hay ride to the pumpkin patch. We found four perfect little pumpkins and put them in our bags, then headed back to the main part of the farm. We washed our pumpkins and then it was time to pack up and get back on the bus. This time I made sure we were up front and that was so much better. It was a successful trip and the kids enjoyed themselves.

One trip to Bizi Farms was not enough, so four days later, I headed back there with Jaron's play group and some other friends. The day we went with Shay was gorgeous! The day we went with Jaron was so freakin' cold! He kept saying, "I cold mommy, I cold!" I felt bad, but didn't know what to do for him. I had to go through the hay maze with him because he would NOT go without me. He loved all the animals in the petting zoo, but wouldn't climb on the hay tower. We had the hardest time finding him a pumpkin, but one of my friend's prevailed and found the perfect one for him. By this time most of the pumpkins were rotten and nasty. The pickings were slim. Luckily the one we ended up with was so cute and just perfect. After the pumpkin patch we let them sit on this big tractor and Jaron LOVED it! He is all boy, he loves anything that is for boys. Balls, cars, trucks, tractors, trains, bad guys, guns, etc. He loves it all. We had a good time, but were excited to get home and get warmed up with some hot cocoa.
His favorite thing of the day!
Every year we take our kids to a Pumpkin patch that is at a farm near our home. It is called Joe’s Place and we like it because it is close by with a fun hayride a hay barn that the kids love to climb in and it also has a maze. It is fun for the kids. They love going to the pumpkin patch to pick out their very own pumpkins. Like always we had a great time and got some great pumpkins.
This picture is not the best because it was so sunshiny that I couldn't get rid
the shadows. And for some reason it's the only picture of Brandon!
