Baseball

Like we have for the last five years, we spent our spring playing and watching baseball. Pete coached the boys AA little league team again this year. The were the Red Sox again and they had a winning season. It was a really rainy and cool spring, so watching the games wasn't as fun as it was in years past. We didn't make it to a lot of the games, but the ones we did the boys did a good job and it was fun to watch them.

Sideways School? or is it Wayside School?

On June 3rd, I went on a field trip with Brandon's class. We went to a theater in Oregon to see a play called Wayside school. It's based on a book about a school that was built 17 stories high instead of 17 classrooms on one level. So there is one classroom on each floor. These stories are about the kids on the 17th floor. It was cute and the kids LOVED it!!!!! I had a great time being with Brandon and the cute kids that were in our group.

Memorial Day at the Coast

For Memorial Day we went to the Oregon Coast. We decided to get a couple of yurts with our friends the Lacher's and spend the day and night at the coast. The weather that day was pretty good. We headed to Tillamook and went to the cheese factory. We ate some samples of delicious cheese and then ate some of the best ice cream cones around. We then headed to Cape Meares and saw the gorgeous light house and the octopus tree.

The kids loved it and had so much fun running around being together. We decided to go to the beach and headed to Ocean side. It is a beautiful beach with a tunnel that connects to another beach. The kids played and built sand castles and got soaking wet, but they had fun and that's all that matters.

We headed to the yurts and had a great time cooking dinner over the fire and then eating yummy smores!!! YUM!!!! We put the kids in bed and then had a great time chatting and enjoying good company.

In the morning we headed to Pacific City and enjoyed the beach there. It started to rain, so we packed up and headed back to Tillamook to eat another yummy ice cream. We then headed home. It was such a fun couple of days and we loved every minute of it!

Jaron was tired on the way home and

My little Munchkin!

May 25th was a busy evening. The same night as Brandon's track meet, Shaylee had her Wizard of Oz play at her preschool. I was just glad that they were timed, so we could go to both.

Shaylee was a Munchkin for the play and boy was she a cute Munchkin! She has been singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for months now. She sings that song every Sunday for my mom and dad and mother-in-law on the phone. My dad was impressed with how in tune she is. She's a good little singer.

Shaylee and her "twin" Maddie!

Ellie and Shaylee

When I saw her in her costume I was reminded of another little Munchkin we had three years ago at this same school.

Track

Brandon had his first year of track this year. He really enjoyed it, he loved the practices and was excited for his first track meet. He had his first track meet on May 25th. He was super excited and so cute. He ran the 100 m dash, the 200 m and he did the standing long jump and did the softball throw. It was so cute to see him racing. He was just loving all the people and looking for Pete and me in the stands. Needless to say he did not win any races since he was more intent on waving and smiling for the camera then actually racing. It was super cute, though! I'm glad he loved it and hopefully he will do it again next year.

Mother's Day.

I am so behind! Oh well, I will hopefully catch up soon!

For Mother's Day, I was spoiled greatly this year! I got breakfast in bed. YUMMY! I got the best picture book of me with my kids starting with Brandon as a newborn on up until the present time. I love it and so do the kids. It has been a favorite church item for the kids to look at during church. I also got lots of other presents. I really am a spoiled woman, by both my kids and my wonderful husband.
