Irrigation water!

When I was a little girl and we visited my Grandma and Grandpa H. we would play in the irrigation water whenever it flooded my grandparents field.  This happens a few times a week and I just loved playing in the water.  It is one of my very favorite memories of summertime when I was little.  I have never had my kids play in the water, so when my mom talked to my Grandma and we found out the water was going to be flooding her field, my sisters and I decided it was time for our kids to enjoy this wonderful summertime activity from our childhood.  The kids had such a blast!  They can't wait to do it next summer.  I am so sad that I hadn't done it sooner.  The big boys who can swim were able to go in the deep ditches and the littler kids all stayed in the fields and the shallower ditches.  After playing for a couple of hours we topped the day off by eating Pace Astro bars, also a childhood tradition of my family's when we came to visit Grandma and Grandpa's.  By the way if you are ever in Bountiful or Layton, stop at Pace's and get a Rainbow, Pace bar and a burger.  They are out of this world delish!
