Green Eggs and Ham

The first grade always has a green eggs and ham breakfast to celebrate Dr. Suess' birthday.  I was able to go to Shaylee's and I had so much fun with her.  The kids all get a Cat in the Hat hat and then we all get a green eggs and ham breakfast from a local restaurant called Beaches.  It was pretty good even though it looks pretty gross.  We even had the Cat in the Hat come and read Green Eggs and Ham to us.  The Cat in the Hat was Mr. Schiewe (Brandon's 1st grade teacher).  Shaylee had to have her picture with him!

Basketball

The boys both played basketball again this year.  Kenyon played with Evergreen Hoops and Brandon played with HotShots.  I have decided that I like Evergreen Hoops better and will have both my boys play with Evergreen next year.  For some reason, I didn't get any pictures of B with his team.  I will have to see if Pete got any on his phone.

Things 1-5

March 2, is Dr. Seuss' birthday and so I surprised the kids with Thing cupcakes that I had seen made on Pinterest.  The kids loved them.  I did Thing 1,2... for all the kids.  They thought it was great!  Yeah, I know, I am such a cool mom!

March came in like a LION....

A white and very cold, blizzardy lion!  We actually got snow!  Isn't it gorgeous?

Thirty six and getting old

On February 26, I turned 36 years old.  Man, I am getting old.  Pete got me cinnamon rolls for my birthday.  I am not a cake lover, but I adore cinnamon rolls. YUM!

Blue and Gold Banquet

This was the cake I made for Kenyon's Blue and Gold Banquet.  The theme was Resourcefulness.  Stupid, but I did think being able to make your own campfire is resourceful, so we made a campfire cake and I think it turned out great!

The Redwoods

On Sunday, February 19th, we went to church at McKinleyville, and then went through the Redwoods.  We found this really big tree and it was amazing to look at the tree.  It was HUGE.  The same place that we found the tree was also an Elk preserve and we saw all these Elk just chillin' in the grass.  They were so beautiful.  After seeing the Elk, we found a drive through tree, so of course, we had to stop and drive our van through it.  It was absolutely beautiful driving through the Redwoods and looking at all these beautiful and tall trees.  After we got through the Redwoods, we headed home.  It was such a fun and wonderful vacation.  I enjoyed just hanging out with my sweet little family and having them all to myself.  No school and no work!
