Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, we decided that the kids needed to understand what Memorial day is all about, so we decided to start the day out by visiting our friend's grave, who served in the armed forces and had passed away last November.   It was a really peaceful cemetery and a nice place to visit.

After visiting the cemetery we headed to the Clackamas Aquatic center.  This Aquatic center has some big water slides, a wave pool, a diving pool, and a baby pool.  It was a great place for the kids no matter what their age.   Maycee even joined in the fun!

After the Aquatic center we headed to a barbeque at our friends home.  By this time I had a migraine, so I didn't last very long at the BBQ.  Pete and I went home with Maycee and our kids came home later with out neighbors.  After the kids got home, Pete took them to the park for dessert and to visit with our friends who were visiting from out of town.

It was a busy, but fun Memorial Day!

Brandon's Invention Convention

Brandon's big culminating project for his EXCEL class was to create his very own invention.  Brandon is very creative and so of course he came up with a very complex invention.  His invention was a kitchen counter that you could push a button and it would flip and rotate and become an oven.  It's a space saver for houses that don't have a lot of room.  I thought it was so creative, but creating that invention was rough, but we did it!  Good job Brandini!!!

No Jealousy!!!

Jaron has loved Maycee from the moment that he first saw her at the hospital.  Pete found Jaron and Maycee like this the other day.  Seriously SO CUTE!!!!

Father's and Son's

On May 20, Pete took the boys to father's and Son's.  Every year our Stake has a camp out and my boys love to go.  Pete is so great to take them and they enjoy being together and having that bonding time.  This year it was on our anniversary, so we just celebrated it a week late.  When the boys go on their camp out my friends and I get together with our girls and go out to dinner.  This year, Pete's mom was here and so she joined us for dinner.  We came home and then watched Shaylee's new Barbie movie.  It was so much fun for us and for the boys.

Our little Zebra

The younger grades at our elementary school do a musical "informance" at the end of the year.  It is a performance that "informs" the parents about what their kids have learned that year.  Shaylee's was about different animals.  Shaylee was a zebra and she was the Speaker.  She had lines she memorized and then she and the other zebras all danced while the rest of the class played the music.  She did a great job and made a cute little zebra.

Our trip to the beach

On May 18th, we took the kids out of school since it was early release day and went to the beach with Grandma.  We went to Astoria and climbed the Astoria column.  It is the first time I have climbed it in years.  I have a fear of heights and it is so hard to do things like this, but I sucked it up and did it.  I had the baby in her bjorn and it was a little scary since I couldn't see my feet and those are some windy stairs!  When we got up to the top the kids threw their airplanes off the tower.  They sell these wooden airplanes that are biodegradable, so you can throw them and not have to worry about them.  This is the first time we've done the airplane thing and the kids loved it.  Shaylee was a bit scared to throw hers, but she did end up doing it.

She was so excited to be up at the top and throwing the airplane down. NOT!

We then went to Ecola State park, which is right by Cannon Beach.  It was gorgeous with great views.  It is not a place you can hang out on the beach, but you can hike and look at the gorgeous views.

We then headed to Cannon Beach, so the kids could play in the sand and surf.  This was Maycee first trip to the beach.

March of Dimes- March for Babies!

On April 30, two of my friends and I went on the March of Dimes, march for babies.  It was a 10K walk that we did to raise money for the March of Dimes.  We had a great time, walking and talking with our babies.  I was amazed at all the free stuff that we got at the end of the walk.  Hot dogs, drinks, jump ropes, pedometers, ice cream sandwiches, and I could go on and on.  It was really a fun morning and I hope to do it again next year.
