Ginger

Our puppy Ginger came to our house on April 27th, Jaron's fifth birthday.  Welcome to the family Ginger!

My Baby Boy is FIVE!

Jaron turned five on April 27th.  I can't believe that he is already five.  I could swear he was just this tiny cuddly baby who used to snuggle up and fall asleep on my chest.  Jaron had an extra special birthday because we got our dog on his birthday.  Pete took him to lunch for his birthday to a Lebanese restaurant.  It seems weird, I know, but Jaron loves hummus and pita bread.  He loved it and then he and Pete went to the airport to pick up our puppy.  They stopped at Target to get some things for her and then brought her home.  For dinner we had his favorite poppy seed chicken and then we opened presents and had cupcakes and ice cream.  It was such a fun day for him.
Here are some things about Jaron at five:
  • He loves Ninjago
  • He loves to run around the house making fighting noises with his mouth and jumps around pretending he is fighting.
  • He knows his alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors.
  • He can write his name
  • He is a temper and is trying to learn how to get that under control
  • He is still a mommy's boy, but does love to do things with his daddy
  • He still carries his "dee dee" every where.
  • He loves both of his big brothers, but completely idolizes Kenyon and tries to copy and imitate everything Kenyon does (it irritates Kenyon to no end)
  • He is a great big brother to Maycee and loves to take care of her
  • He likes to help me bake.
  • He makes his own bed and puts away some of his own laundry.
  • He cleans the mirror, sink and counter in one bathroom weekly
  • He can be very loveable and very cuddly if he is in the mood.

I just adore my baby boy and am so sad that he is going to be going to all day Kindergarten next year.  I will miss him so much...he is my buddy and keeps me company.

Happy Birthday Little man!

And her name is....

We decided that we would let everyone in the family choose a name for the dog and then everyone would vote for their top three.  Which ever name got the most votes would win.  The names we chose from were:  Pete- Isabella (Bella),  Steph- Daisy, Brandon- Misty, Kenyon- Ginger, Shaylee- Lily, and Jaron - Molly.  The problem that we had with this is that there was a tie between Ginger and Molly... so we went back and told everyone to write their favorites of just those two names and it tied again!  So.. we put the names in a box and had Maycee draw out the winner.  Drum roll.... Ginger won!  Much to Shaylee's dismay (and mine).  So, we named her Ginger Molly Phelon.

Guess who joined our family?

Yep, we are getting a dog!  I am insane and should probably br committed for doing it, but when Jaron ran scared from my friends cat when I dropped him off at her house in February, I knew it was time for an animal and a cat was not going to happen with all the allergies in my family.  So after a great deal of research and dog hunting we found this little angel in Utah and had my parents go check her out for us and then the lady said she would hold her for us until she is 12 weeks old.  She will arrive at our house on April 27, Jaron's birthday.

Maycee at 15 months

Here's a little update on my baby girl:  Maycee at fifteen months weighs 18 pounds (she had pink eye and had to go to the doctor, that's how I know her weight).  She loves to get into EVERYTHING!  As I work she is quickly undoing whatever I am trying to do.  While I cook, she unloads my cupboards, while I do my hair and makeup she unloads my drawers and jewelry, when I put something away, she gets it back out.  She does all of this with a smile on her face.  She is a very happy and busy little girl.  She started walking at thirteen months, she can say Dada, Hi, Mama and Dydy (byebye).  She is a very picky eater.  She has started rejecting lots of different foods.  Yea, for another picky eater!  Her hair is thin, but getting long and curly.  We are loving our little girl!  She is such a doll!

Shaylee's Birthday Party

Shaylee had a Lalaloopsy birthday party this year.  She loves the lalaloopsy dolls and so I thought it would be a fun theme for her party.  She invited some of her closest friends and they had a great time!  The party started out a little rough with no birthday girl since she and her daddy ran errands and got a little lost in Portland.  But, she did arrive FINALLY!  and the party began.  The girls played Just Dance, made their initials out of buttons, played Bingo and colored in little Lalaloopsy coloring books.  Shaylee had a great time and the party was a great success.
