Time Out For Women and Crazy Weather

For the last three years I have been going to Time out for women with some of my friends.  I love it and always have so much fun hanging out with my friends without having to worry about kids.  Plus I get to hear some great people talk and hear some great music.  This year was no exception.  We had a great time and some crazy adventures!

Also, at the beginning of November we had some crazy weather going on.  We had three solid days of high winds that knocked down our fence and then to end the crazy wind storm we got some snow!  The kids got out of school early and were so excited.  The snow didn't last long, but snow here is always exciting, whether it s and inch or six.

Ginger Had A Guest

We got to puppy sit our friends dog for 8 days at the beginning of November.  He is a Shi Tzu/ Bichon frise.  I was a bit concerned about how Ginger would react to having a dog in her territory for that long, but she loved having him to play with.  They wrestled and played and chased each other all over the house.  He is quite a bit bigger than her, but she pinned him down most of the time.  Jaron loved to watch them wrestle and when Ginger got him down on the ground he would do the count down "1,,,2,,,3...4...5  Ginger wins!"  It was so funny!  It was great for Ginger to have a friend and it went pretty well, but I definitely decided I only want one dog in my home at a time.

A CONCERT OF FIRSTS

On November 3rd, we had a band concert for Brandon and Kenyon.  It was Brandon's first concert playing the bass clarinet and Kenyon's first concert in percussion.  They both did a great job.  My favorite part was when Kenyon was playing the crash cymbols and every time he crashed them together it created so much air current his hair blew up in the air!  It was pretty funny to watch!  Brandon was also an announcer for the first piece that the 8th grade band played.  I love that my kids are so musical and we get to enjoy their musical talents.

Halloween 2014

For Halloween this year Brandon went to his friends house and so I didn't get any pictures of him.  Kenyon could not decide on a costume, so at 3:30 on Halloween day we dug through the Halloween dress up box and came up with his costume.  He is a Mage, a wizard who specializes in the dark arts.  I had never heard of a mage, so we looked it up online and found a picture of one and I am pretty proud of the costume we came up with.  He went trick or treating with

Shaylee really wanted to be a cheer leader, so we found a friend who had a cheerleading costume and another one who had pompoms and we came up with another free outfit.  She went trick or treating with her friend Natalie and Maycee.

Jaron was Jengo Fett again.  He always wants to be a Star Wars character and I am done buying Star Wars costumes.  He went to a birthday party and as part of the party they went trick or treating.  He had a great time!

Maycee was a pink/purple pirate.  Hers is the only costume I bought.  I have never bought her a costume and when I saw that pirate one I had to get it cause it was so cute!

We had a great Halloween and everyone got lots of candy and came home happy!

Now that's a scary look!

Hiking in the Rain!!!!!!

We decided to go on a hike with our friends the Reids to kick off our summer.  The problem is that the day we chose was kind of a rainy day, but we decided to go anyway because, HELLO, we live in the Northwest and rain does not stop us from doing anything!  We had a great time and didn't get rained all at all... until we were headed back to the car and then it started POURING!  And I mean like cats and dogs!  Maycee decided she couldn't walk anymore, so I got to carry her back to the car for about two miles in the down pour.  After our lovely hike, we decided to head to Wendy's for lunch.  YUM! YUM!  It was definitely a memorable hike!

Cheer camp

The first week after school was out, Shaylee went a cheer camp put on by the Union High School cheer squad.  She really enjoyed it. On Thursday they did a parent day where we could go and watch them perform.  She did awesome, but she is so tiny and was behind some girls who were younger than her, but bigger.  I wish I could have gotten a better view.

My Ballerina in Brave

This year for Shaylee's ballet recital her studio was doing a ballet to Brave.  Shaylee was a Bagpiper and did a tap routine.  She did a great job, she is really turning into a pretty dancer.  I really loved the girls outfits this year, they were so cute!  They didn't come with anything for their hair, so I got volunteered to make some big sparkly cheer bows.  It was the first time I had made bows like these, so it was a learning curve, but they turned out so cute!

These pictures were taken on picture day.  I decided after pictures were done, I would just take my own pics with my nice camera and then I wouldn't have to order the expensive ones.  These turned out so much cuter than the professional ones.

These pictures were taken after her performance.
