Family Bowling

Brandon has been begging us to go bowling at Big Al's since school started. So on President's Day when we asked the kids what they wanted to do, Brandon asked again to go bowling.

We decided that would be fun since we've never been bowling with our kids. We had a wonderful time! The kids loved it! It was a really fun family day.

Shaylee first started bowling by pushing the ball down the lane. It took forever for the ball to get to the pins. So we finally got smart and had her push it down this metal thing that looks like a hill to give the ball a running start. That was much quicker. Kenyon also used that to get his ball down the lane.

Brandon was really good and would just let the ball fly! He even beat me! Of course he did have the bumpers! He is very proud of himself that he beat mommy! I am obviously NOT a very good bowler.

Pete won, but still didn't score very high. It has been a very long time since either of us has been bowling. We had a wonderful time! We will definitely go bowling again soon!

SHE'S POTTYTRAINED!!

Yep, that's right, three down and one to go! Three weeks ago today Shaylee went pee in the toilet for the first time. She had sat on it many times before, but never actually went in it. I wasn't sure what to do because until she actually went in it there was no where else to go with it. So we put on a video (Barbie as Princess and the Pauper) for her until she finally peed! There was much cheering and dancing in that bathroom! (It only took her an hour and a half!) After that she figured it out really quickly. She had her last accident exactly one week after she first went in the toilet. She has been dry day and night for two weeks now. I was actually very surprised with how easy it was.

She got a Barbie doll, which is actually Sleeping Beauty, for her potty present from mommy and daddy. Grandma and Grandpa sent her money to buy a potty present from them. She is going to buy the new Barbie movie. I think it's called Marisol, that comes out next Tuesday on Feb.26th. My birthday. As you can tell she LOVES Barbie!

It is such a relief not to have to worry about it again for another year and a half. I HATE potty training. It is so stressful and frustrating. I was bound and determined to be really positive with Shaylee while we went through the process. I think it went really well. I kept my cool and it never became the big ordeal it was with Brandon and Kenyon.

Thank Heavens it is all over with!

TAG!

TAG!!!!!
Okay, I'm new to this so from reading other blogs I think I'm supposed to answer these questions and then tag someone else. Here goes.

A little something about my Sweetie!

What is his name? Peter Matthew. Pete to me!
How long have you been married? 8 1/2 years. 9 in May
How long did you date? I'm sure this will raise some eyebrows! We dated three weeks and one day and then we were engaged for four months and ten days.
How old is he? 37
Who eats more? He does, usually. Every now and then I've been known to pig out. Especially chocolate!
Who said I love you first? He did.
Who is smarter? He is, I'll admit it.
Whose temper is worse? I think we're equal on that.
Who does the laundry? Me.
Who does the dishes? I usually do, but Pete does every now and then. He clears the table and sweeps.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you're laying in the bed, he does. If you're facing it, I do.
Who pays the bills? He does. I hate numbers and math of any kind!
Who cooks dinner? Me
Who drives when you are together? Pete.
Who is more stubborn? He is!
Whose parents do you see the most? Mine.
Who proposed? He did! At my Grandma's at three in the morning! SHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Who has more friends? He has more long term friends. I have more here and now friends.
Who has more siblings? He does. There's ten in his fam. Six in mine.
Who wears the pants in the family? We're very equal. We keep each other in check.

I will now tag................. Gina (love ya sis!) and Nicole.

I hope I did this right!

Valentine's Day 2008

We had a very fun Valentine's Day. We didn't do anything to extravagant, but it was fun. I made a heart cake with Kenyon's help. The kids thought it was wonderful!

The boys both came home with bags full of candy. When Kenyon was dropped off from Kindergarten he was dragging his backpack behind him. He said that he had so much candy his backpack was too heavy to carry! He is so funny! Brandon also had a ton of candy and valentine's.

For dinner I made the kids heart shaped mini pizzas. It was pretty fun! After dinner the kids dug into the yummy cake! They loved it. I think we will make having a heart shaped cake a family tradition. It was a hit.

After dinner Pete and I gave the kids each a book for Valentine's day. They love their books. Especially Brandon who loves to read. He has already finished his book which was "Junie B Jones Mushy Gushy Valentine. He LOVES Junie B Jones books. He also enjoys Magic Tree House books.

Pete and I had dinner by ourselves after the kids went to bed. Then we exchanged gifts. Pete of course gave me roses- six red and six white. He also gave me a book and a manicure set. I gave Pete Glenn Beck's new book. It was a great Valentine's Day.

Introduction

I have been wanting to start a blog since my sister started one in October. I finally got the courage to just go ahead and bite the bullet.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Pete for eight and half years. We have four kids, Brandon (7); Kenyon (5); Shaylee (2); and Jaron (9 mths.). I am a stay at home mom. I love spending time with my family, reading, scrap booking and making hair bows for my daughter.

This will be a wonderful history for my family to have. I am excited for everyone in the family to be more involved in our lives.
