Nine months old

So, I am WAY behind and even missed Maycee's nine month post!  But, I did take her picture for the post, so here we go:

Miss Maycee at nine months old, has started to crawl on her hands and knees and now only army crawls when she wants something FAST.  She pulls herself up onto her knees, but not her feet yet.  She waves bye, bye and hi and also says "hi".  She is still nursing four times a day and loves it.  She eats big people food in her high chair and loves everything I have given her.  She pulls her bow out off of her head on a regular basis.  She's definitely not Shaylee, who NEVER took her bow off her head.

This baby is the happiest baby I have EVER seen.  She grins all the time.  She laughs easily, and has the sweetest belly laugh around.  We adore her and are so grateful that she is in our family.  I can't wait to see what this spunky little girl has in store for us in the future.

Kenyon's Party!

Once our kids turn eight, they only get a birthday party every other year.  So this was the year of parties.  Kenyon wanted a Nerf party and have Nerf gun wars.  Pete and I decided that for the kids take home prize we would give each boy a Nerf gun.  That way we didn't have to worry about them each bringing their own gun and if each boy had a gun and all that stuff.  Plus, we would have spent the same amount of money on a bunch of candy and trinkets, so why not get them something useful for years to come.  The boys had a BLAST!  It was a really hot day, so we put a cooler of water outside and the boys had a great time playing capture the flag, using their guns for target practice, and having cake.  It was a simple party, but perfect for a bunch of nine year old boys.  Kenyon had a great time and I count the party a success.

Three parties down and one to go!  Can you tell that I am not a huge fan of birthday parties?!  I do it for my kids, but it stresses me out!  Luckily kids are really easy and they always have a great time!

Happy Birthday Kenyon

On August 15th, Kenyon, turned nine years old.  Those nine years have flown by and Kenyon has turned into a fun loving, smart and creative young man.  From the moment my little red head was born he has given me so much joy and laughs.  I am so grateful to be his mom.  For his ninth birthday here are a few things I love about my redhead.

  • He has the best giggle around!  It makes me smile just to hear him
  • He loves to have fun!
  • When he is in the right mood, he can be very helpful.
  • I ADORE his freckles and red hair.
  • He is usually very willing to play with Shaylee and Jaron
  • He loves to ride his bike and is always trying new tricks on it.
  • He adores Star Wars and has since he was two.
  • He is so loving!  He is always giving me hugs and kisses.
  • He loves to make jokes and laugh (He reminds me of his daddy).

Happy Ninth Birthday, sweet boy!  I love you!

T-Ball

Pete decided to coach a t-ball team this summer for Shaylee and Jaron.  It was an interesting experience.  Shaylee enjoyed herself, but Jaron was NOT interested in playing t-ball at all.  Shaylee did great and I think she really liked having Pete coach her.  She also enjoyed having her friend, Hannah on the team.  Jaron only played in two of the games.  I got him to play in those games by running the bases with him.  I looked super cute running those bases with my flip flops, let me tell ya!  The things you do for your kids when your a mom!  :)

What a cutie!

Boating

The day after the fair, we were invited to go out on our friends' boat.  The beginning of the trip was a little crazy because both Jaron and Shaylee were scared to get on the boat and of course one of us had to hold Maycee, We finally calmed them down and got them on the boat and they got used to and were fine.  It was a little cool and choppy, but Kenyon decided to try and knee board and he was able to get up and did such a great job!  Brandon wasn't quite as successful, but he got really anxious when he was in the water and I think that is why he struggled.  After knee boarding we headed to a beach that had this great big sand hill the kids could climb.  They loved it and Jaron had a great time making a castle with Pete.  The kids played in the water and had so much fun.  Once we were done with beach we headed back out on the boat and went tubing.  Shaylee loved the tube!  I was surprised at how brave she was, because it was pretty bouncy and choppy out there.  The boys had a great time on the tube as well.  It was such a fun day and the kids had a blast!  Thank you, Reids for inviting us!

The Clark County Fair

On August 5th, we went to the Clark County fair.  It had been a few years since we had been, but we had a blast!  We went after Pete got home from work and spent the rest of the day and evening there.  We started out with Pete taking  the two younger kids on the little rides and I watched the older boys ride the bigger rides.  We then met up for a yummy and expensive dinner!  For dessert we ate an elephant ear, YUM!  Then we split up again with me taking the younger kids and Pete going with the big boys.  I used up all of our tickets on the rides and then took the little ones to see the animals.  They loved it.  The boys were having a blast going on all the fun spinny rides.  They convinced Pete to join them on two and on the last one poor Pete threw up on the ride!  He just doesn't do spinny rides well.  Poor guy!  Besides that little incident it was a great time and we love the Clark County fair!

Pete and the boys loved this ride!

The tilt a whirl is my favorite ride!

This is the spinny ride that Pete threw up on - the boys are riding it alone a few hours before the throwing up incident!

Best friends and brothers!

Maycee enjoyed the fair, just like this!  She was SO good!
