Christmas Eve

It was my sister, Gina's turn to have Christmas Eve at her house.  She made our traditional homemade pizza for dinner and I made some Christmas cupcakes for dessert.  We devote most of Christmas Eve to the Savior and His birth.  The kids read Christmas stories, sang songs and played Christmas music.  At the end of our program, Tyler read the Christmas story and the younger kids all used the puppets to act it out.  We ended our evening with the kids all unwrapping a present each.  Our kids all get PJ's.  They always get some kind of bedtime item.  It was a wonderful evening and the perfect way to celebrate the Savior's birthday.

On our way home we read the Christmas story again as a family in the car and sang songs to go along with it.  I have a really nice binder that has the story with songs that match each part of the story interspersed in it.  It was amazing how much we felt the Spirit on that hour drive home by adding that into our lives.  We got home and left cookies for Santa, reindeer food for the reindeer and then all the kids headed to bed together in the toy room.  It was a wonderful way to start our Christmas.
