Our Last Day

On Tuesday, we decided we wanted to have a tour of the Parliament building. We found out they had a tour at 9:00 am which gave us just enough time to go through the 30 minute tour and get to the ferry on time. I really enjoyed the tour, it was so interesting. I didn't realize that England's queen is also Canada's queen. She rules in name only as Parliament passes all of Canada's laws. I was surprised at how interested Brandon and Kenyon were in the tour. Brandon kept asking the lady questions, I was so impressed with him.

The Parliament building

This floor is made of glass tiles. They are very fragile, so you can't walk on it.

This is the inside of the dome on top of the building.

This is where the lawmakers meet.

We then headed to the ferry and had an hour and a half ferry ride to Port Angeles Washington. The kids enjoyed going outside on the deck of the ferry. It was SO cold, so I wasn't going to head out there!

We ate lunch in Port Angeles and then headed to Forks. The drive through western Washington is a gorgeous one. We made it to Forks about mid afternoon. It is a cute little town, and they have a tour route and houses designated as Bella's house, the Cullen's house, Jacob's house (in La Push), they have the police station, and Forks High School as well. We also went to La Push to see Jacob's house and the Cliff that Bella jumps off of in the book. It was pouring rain the whole time in La Push. Pete tried to take a picture of the cliff and the rain hit me right in the face when he rolled down my window to take the picture. The rain continued like that all the way home. night.
