Spring Break Day 3

On our third day, we started our day at Craigdarroch Castle.  This is a gorgeous home that was built by a wealthy man in Victoria.  He ended up dying before the castle was done, but his family was able to live in it.  It is amazing!  I loved the staircase and all the gorgeous wood.  The kids enjoyed it as well because they have a scavenger hunt that the kids can go on and find different things in the castle on all the different levels.  The boys really enjoyed that.  Shaylee was very nervous to go up the stairs, but with much persuasion, Pete was able to get her to go with him.  Jaron stayed on the first level with Grandma because the castle made him very nervous. We ended our trip to the castle in the gift shop and then headed to downtown Victoria.

This is looking up at the staircase.  Shaylee is
on one level and we are on the upper level.  The
staircase was my favorite part of the castle.

We ate lunch at really cute deli in Victoria called Frank's Honeybun Cafe.  They served Chinese food, breakfast and sandwiches.  It was perfect for us.  The kids all had breakfast, Pete and Grandma had Chinese food and I had a sandwich.  Yummy!  We then spent the rest of the day in China town.  It was really rainy and wet.  The kids had a great time picking out some fun souvenirs at the little shops.

We ended our day by swimming in the pool.  The kids loved this pool because the shallow end was perfect for them to be able to walk around in.  The pool was heated, which was good because the pool was outside in a little building, that wasn't very insulated.  It was a fun, but exhausting day.
