We are in Utah right now visiting my family. We are having a very long visit because my sister from Pennsylvania came out to Utah in July and Pete's twenty year high school reunion is August 9th, so in order to catch my sister and his reunion we will be here for almost four weeks!
The day after we got here we decided to all go to the zoo. So on July 17th we loaded all eleven kids into three different cars and headed up the hills in Salt Lake City. It was hot, but not overpowering. The kids had a great time seeing all the animals and just being together as cousins. The zoo has a carousel ride and a train ride, so grandma and grandpa bought the kiddos tickets and they were able to ride the carousel and the train. The boys loved the carousel, but Shaylee would NOT get on one of the animals! So she and I rode in the peacock which is just like a bench seat that doesn't move. I was very surprised because she is usually very brave. I had fun sitting with her and enjoying the ride with her.
All in all it was a very fun and successful zoo trip. The kids were all very well behaved. The babies were all happy even though it was nap time. I don't thinks we had any meltdowns. It was actually quite amazing how well it went with eleven kids in tow!

Sounds like you are having a good time! That is a REALLY long visit!
It's fun when cousins get to play together! Faith wouldn't go on any of the animals that moved when she was younger either. I'm glad that you are having fun!
Looks like a very fun time. Those long visits are so fun in the summer but we will miss you here!
