Day 3 - Baseball here we come!!!!!!

July 9

Today we headed back to Chicago to spend some time there. We lived in Chicago for about nine months when we were first married and we love this beautiful city. The first thing we did was head to a suburb up north to pick up our tickets for the White Sox vs. Indians game we were going to that day.

We got the tickets which were awesome seats plus a parking pass. We scored on these tickets! Then we headed to Comiskey Park (I know it has some stupid name now, but I still call it Comiskey). We met our friend Shannon there along with her boyfriend, Rob and headed into the game. We got there a bit early, so Pete could try and get his ball signed by some players. He did get one signature, so that was exciting. It was a hot and very humid day, so I had to keep getting up and going back into the stadium to dry off from sweating so bad. It was a fun game and we enjoyed talking and cheering on our team! It was so exciting that the Indians won and they gave us quite a show. There was lots of scoring and even a grand slam! The final score was 10 to 8.

Gossling (pitcher who signed Pete's ball)

Grady Sizemore!

Victor Martinez (now traded to the Red Sox!
How sad! He's been with Cleveland his whole career!)

I know he has on the wrong uniform, but
this is Pete's favorite player, Jim Thome. He
was an Indian for many years until they got a new
owner and dismantled the team. :( He was born
on the exact same day as Pete.
We still love you
Jimmy boy!

See! I told you it was humid! These are stuck
to his head with his sweat! Gross!

Pete with his signed ball.

After the game, we headed into downtown Chicago to go eat at our very favorite Chinese restaurant, Ben Pao! We met our friends there and enjoyed every scrumptious bite of food. Plus the restaurant is really nice and has such a great atmosphere.
This is the sign outside of Ben Pao.

Me and Shannon

Check out the cabbie hiding his face! What's
up with that? Is he hiding from the mob?

After dinner we said goodbye to Shannon and Rob and then headed out on the town. We wandered all over the city and just enjoyed being back in Chicago. Chicago has such beautiful buildings and I love walking the Magnificent Mile. We ended our walking adventure at the Hershey's candy store and we each got a brownie for our desert. These brownies were so good! Mine was peanut butter cup and Pete's was a york peppermint pattie brownie. After that we headed back to our very nice hotel and ate our brownies while watching a movie. The perfect ending to a perfect day.
The Trump Building- this is new since we lived here.

The building behind the Hard Rock Cafeis where
our first apartment in Chicago was right off the
Magnificent Mile. It was a gorgeous apartment.
